Cuomo and other elected officials for New York State were at Manhattanville College on Thursday, April 5, 2012, for a state budget signing ceremony. Almost 200 guests, including many from the Manhattanville Community, joined in the East Room in Benziger Hall to hear the governor's address.

Assemblyman Robert Castelli opened the ceremony with kind words, calling Manhattanville "one of the jewels of Westchester County." He introduced Senator Andrea Stewart-Cousins, who offered a few words on the great changes New York government is making before offering the stage to Governor Cuomo.

Governor Cuomo discussed key changes in the 2012-2013 New York State budget that put the state ahead, including tax cuts for the middle class, revisions to pension plans, funds allocated for the new Tappan Zee Bridge, and the new teacher evaluation system that is being implemented in public schools this year.
