Manhattanville College Named Media Partner at the ISO 31000 Conference in Paris

ISO31000 LogoManhattanville College has been named a media partner at the inaugural ISO 31000 Conference in Paris, France, May 21-22, 2012. This very prestigious event will have as its keynote speakers and attendees the top gurus in risk from around the world, including the ISO Secretary-General, and the Chair of the ISO Working Group that developed ISO 31000.

"Being selected as a media partner is a testament to our preeminent standing in the risk community and evinces global recognition of our new Center's contribution to the discipline," said Dean of the School of Graduate and Professional Studies Anthony Davidson.

Davidson has been invited to deliver a presentation at the session on Education. Davidson will be speaking, along with John Shortreed, adjunct professor at the University of Waterloo, Canada, and Carolyn Williams, Head of Thought Leadership at the Institute of Risk Management, on the topic of "How world-wide global risk management curriculum are moving to alignment with IS0 31000."

Manhattanville College recently launched an Education and Research Center for Managing Risk. With its comprehensive, holistic approach to managing risk following the principles of ISO 31000, the world-wide standard for risk management, it is believed to be the first of its kind in the United States. Thought-leaders in risk management from around the globe make up the Executive Advisory Council, which will be instrumental in creating and delivering best-practices, educational programs, and applied research to the international risk management community.

In addition to offering several certificates in managing risk designed for audiences ranging from executive to introductory levels, the Center will be developed as a repository for best-in-class research in managing risk. The Center will also be heavily involved in the development of subject matter expertise, corporate training programs, workshops, symposia, and events targeted to advancing the risk management discipline.
