Nikhil Kumar, vice president of Undergraduate Enrollment Management, said, “It is quite an honor to be the official Higher Education partner of a leading Digital Media Summit that has been recognized by Forbes as one of the ‘must-attend marketing conferences for leaders in 2014.”

The partnership with Silverback Social, the company producing the summit, will provide Manhattanville with guest speakers for Digital Media Production courses, potential internship opportunities for students, and will help position Manhattanville as a leader in the digital media space.

“Partnering with the organizers of the Westchester Digital Summit is an exciting opportunity for Manhattanville in general and the Department of Communications and Media in particular,” Brian Snee, associate professor and chair of the Department of Communications and Media, said, “This event is to the digital culture what Comic-Con is to popular culture.”

This will be the second Westchester Digital Summit, with last year’s drawing more than 700 senior digital executives. It is designed to help anyone from individuals to large businesses improve their digital presence.

The keynote speaker is Gary Vaynerchuk, founder of VaynerMedia, an agency that helps companies build their social voice and digital brand through content and storytelling. VaynerMedia’s clients have included the Brooklyn Nets, PepsiCo, GE, Green Mountain Coffee, and the New York Jets. He is also a New York Times bestselling author, and has been named one of the top 20 people every entrepreneur should follow by Businessweek, and was voted a top 25 tech investor on Twitter by CNN.

There will also be opportunities to hear from and meet with representatives from ESPN, Fox Sports, MasterCard, IBM, GE, LinkedIn, Facebook, and many other top companies and people in digital media.

“It's an invaluable chance for the college and especially our students to network with top digital media professionals from around the world,” Snee said.

The summit will take place throughout the day with various events going on from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online here
