Three students from the Manhattanville College Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing Program, Erika Stanley, Derek Smith, and Garrett DeTemple, will be reading their poems at the 2nd Annual MFA Spotlight event at the Hudson Valley Writers' Center on Friday, December 14 at 7 p.m.
"The MFA program at Manhattanville is thrilled to be invited to have its graduate student poets read with MFA students from other nationally-ranked programs," Mark Nowak, Director of the MFA Program, said. "Our three student poets will show everyone what fabulous writers we have in our program."
The reading will also feature MFA candidates from the City College of New York and the New School.
The Hudson Valley Writing Center is a not-for-profit organization that aims to advance the art and craft of writing by encouraging writers and readers to participate in the literary arts. They are also home to Slapering Hol Press, which is dedicated to publishing works by talented emerging poets.
