Diversity Breakfast 2012 flyerThanksgiving started as a sharing of cultures and in this tradition, Manhattanville College will be hosting the annual Thanksgiving Diversity Breakfast on Thursday, November 15, 2012.

"The event embodies precisely what the Duchesne Center and its mission are about," Wil Tyrrell, Director of the Duchesne Center for Religion and Social Justice, said.

Co-sponsored by the Duchesne Center, the American Jewish Committee and the Westchester Jewish Council, the Diversity Breakfast will start at 7:45 a.m. Tickets can be purchased in advance or at the door. Please RSVP at www.ajc.org/westchester/diversity2012.

Thanksgiving Diversity Breakfast started in 2001 in response to September 11, 2001. This will be the fourth year Manhattanvillle has hosted the event.

Forty-five different non-profit, religious, and secular agencies will be represented at this year's thanksgiving breakfast. County Executive Rob Astorino will also be in attendance

Reverend Sarah Henkel, Hudson River Presbytery; Bishop Martin Lauriston Nelson, Bezer Holiness Church; and Rabbi Rigoberto Emmanuel Vinas, Lincoln Park Jewish Center of Yonkers will be honored at the breakfast for their continual efforts to promote diversity.

The Duchesne Center works to "provide a diverse, inclusive, and nurturing environment which develops in each student a commitment to service and leadership within a global community."
