It was a successful weekend for the Manhattanville cross country teams. The women's team won the Valiants Invitational with 24 points. Senior Sarah Gustavsson earned her first collegiate win finishing in 18 minutes. The men's team took second place in a tie-breaker with FDU-Florham.
The field hockey took down St. Lawrence in a 2-1 victory on Sunday at the William Smith Classic. Junior Kayla Meenan and sophomore Amanda DeChent scored within the first five minutes of the match giving the Valiants the lead. Manhattanville recorded its first loss on Saturday with a 5-0 loss to No. 14 William Smith.
The Manhattanville golf team placed sixth with a team score of 299 at the 28th Annual Duke Nelson Invitational hosted by Middlebury College at the Ralph Myhre Golf Course. George Tischler led the Valiants with a two-day score of 152, tying for 17th place. Nick Sisca tied for 33rd place with a 155.
The volleyball team split its matches at the Bard TriMatch this weekend. The Valiants defeated Bard 3-0, before falling to Bay Path 3-1.
The men's soccer team fell to Stevens Saturday, 4-3, taking the first loss of the season. The Valiants rallied for an impressive three-goal comeback in the second half with goals by Daniel Carlryd, Adam Kent and Eros Olazabal. The Ducks scored the winning goal late in the half.
The women's soccer team dropped a 4-0 loss to Skidmore Saturday.
