It was a big extended weekend for Manhattanville College with three teams grabbing home-opener wins.

The men's soccer team defeated York 7-0 Thursday at Field. The Valiants were led by junior Eros Olazabal, who had 5 goals and an assist. His 11 points broke the team's record for most points in a single game. The previous record of ten points was set by Justin Sweeney in 2001. Teammates senior Marco Blasetti and junior Erick Olazabal each scored. Zach Benton and Brad Deeb combined for the shutout. The win marked head coach Greg Miller's first victory at Manhattanville. The Valiants finished the weekend with a 4-2 win over Alvernia.

The field hockey team defeated Mercy College Thursday, 4-0. Manhattanville outshot the Mavericks 13-2 in the first half and only allowed one shot on goal in the second half.

After grabbing their first win of the season, in a 3-1 defeat of cross-town rivals Purchase, the volleyball team swept its opponents at the annual Valiant Tri-Match on Saturday. The Valiants defeated both York and Penn State-Abington in straight sets. Wednesday night, the Valiants defeated John Jay in straight sets. Under the helm of new head coach Amanda Alayon, Manhattanville matched the best start of the season record in program history, 4-0.

The women's tennis team also started out with a victory taking a 4-3 win over Yeshiva Wednesday.
