As the first director of the CTE, her portfolio will include:
Since 2009, Sherie has been an assistant professor of education in the School of Education, and has been an active member of the Manhattanville community, serving on numerous committees including the Athletics Advisory Board, the Campus Security and Safety Advisory Committee, the Core Curriculum Committee, and the Library Committee. She also serves as Chair of the Campus Sustainability Committee,which is dedicated to increasing student engagement in the issue of quality of life on campus and beyond. Her scholarship — both publications and conference presentations —focuses on higher education, specifically transdisciplinarity in teaching and research. She brings to this Directorship a wealth of experience in faculty and library staff development, having had conducted research that supported increased inclusivity in pedagogical strategies in the sciences; developed and led curriculum development workshops across disciplines at the University of Melbourne; and developed and led pedagogical workshops for library staff at Manhattanville in the service of teaching excellence. Sherie earned her B.A. in biology from James Madison University and her Ph.D. in education from the University of Colorado at Boulder. |














Dr. Sherie McClam has been appointed the Director of the Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE), effective January 9, 2012. In this role, Sherie will oversee the development and implementation professional development activities designed to promote teaching excellence and to address particular pedagogical needs andinterests of the Faculty.
