Museums as Studios Exhibit
Thursday, 26 January 2012 15:38

The Museums as Studios class artwork is currently on display in the Brownson Gallery until Feb. 10. The opening for the exhibit is Feb. 1 at 5 p.m.

The exhibit based on the classes features the work of seven students. The class, taught by Professor Randy Williams, attended four museums. The Neuberger Museum at SUNY Purchase, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Frick Museum and the Museum of Modern Art. After each museum visit students would return to class and use the museum discussions and viewing experiences to make original works of art. The museums and the artwork in the museums were resources and source of inspiration.

"Visitors to the exhibit will see original art, visual inspirations from Museum visits and come away with insights to some of the creative processes involved in developing the artwork on diplay," Professor Jim Bergesen said.

The featured students are:

Nicole Berberena, Jared Czek, Brian D'lorio, Louise Mason, Conor McAndrew, Robert Merrick, Layla Tavassoli
