Darla Barolini-Lawrence, a freshman at Manhattanville College, has been awarded the prestigious Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship to study abroad.  Barolini-Lawrence will be using her scholarship to take part in a non-traditional program of study in Italy.  The Gilman Scholarship Program was established by the International Academic Opportunity Act of 2000 and is funded by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.  The goal of the Gilman Scholarship Program is to "foster mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries to promote friendly, sympathetic, and peaceful relations."  The Manhattanville community congratulates Barolini-Lawrence on her accomplishment.
