Literary lightening has struck twice for Master of Arts in Writing alumnus, James King '08. First, his recently published novel Bill Warrington's Last Chance (Viking Penguin) won the prestigious Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award, and now his award-winning novel is being developed into a feature film by director Barry Josephson (Life As We Know It)!

Variety Magazine, the trade bible of the American motion picture industry, announced the news and stated that Mr. King, "...wrote "Bill Warrington's Last Chance" while pursuing a master's in writing at Manhattanville College in Purchase, NY."

The novel follows the story of Bill Warrington who attempts to reunite with his estranged children before the ravages of Alzheimer's overcome him.

James, who returned to Manhattanville recently to read and answer questions at our Fall Meet the Writers event, stated "Enrolling in the Master of Arts in Writing program at Manhattanville has been one of the best writing decisions I've ever made."

Congratulations, James King. Write on!
