School of Education To Offer Advanced Certificate in Education for Sustainability

The School of Education is offering a new 16-credit Advanced Certificate in Education for Sustainability. The program is for practicing teachers, community leaders, environmental specialists, publishers, and librarians who seek knowledge and expertise in education for sustainability.

School of Education to Offer Classes at the Putnam/Northern Westchester BOCES

Manhattanville College, in collaboration with Putnam/Northern Westchester BOCES, is pleased to announce a special initiative to assist teachers who are interested in taking courses, seeking a new degree, or obtaining an additional certification to further their credentials and improve their professional marketability. All courses will meet on the PNW BOCES campus in Yorktown and will be offered with a 50 percent tuition discount.

Twelve Biology Seniors Present at the Annual Tri-Beta NE-1 District Convention

Twelve Biology seniors presented at the Tri-Beta NE-1 District Convention at Pace University on April 29, 2012. Neeta Yousaf '12 won the First Place Frank G. Brooks Award in the Oral Platform category, the top award. Her research focused on the small bioavailable sodium dichloroacetate molecule, its ability to restore mitochondrial function to cells, and the implications for cancer cells, as well as neurotoxin-induced Parkinson's disease.

Craig Donnelly Receives 2012 Community Partnership Award from the Westchester Arc
