Deborah Saleeby-Mulligan, Ph.D.

Visiting Assistant Professor

Professor Deborah Saleeby-Mulligan has been teaching as an adjunct in the Department of Art History at Manhattanville College since 2001. Professor Saleeby-Mulligan is a specialist in both Contemporary Art and the Native Arts of Africa, Oceania, and the Americas. Her recent publication Painting the Irish Conflict profiles the life and work of the Irish mural artist, Gerard "Mo chara" Kelly. Prior to teaching at Manhattanville College, Professor Saleeby-Mulligan worked as an archivist at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where she assisted in several exhibitions including Perfect Documents: Walker Evans and African Art. Professor Saleeby-Mulligan teaches a range of courses related to both Contemporary and Native Art. She is currently working on a publication highlighting the influence of American Indian art in the work of the Abstract Expressionist painter, Clyfford Still.
