Mary Jo McCloskey
Mary Jo Caruso taught full-time at the University of the Virgin Islands before returning to her Queens, NY hometown for a doctoral fellowship at St. John's University, where she is now working on her dissertation, College Writing for Racially and Ethnically Diverse Student Populations. Additional research interests include writing/engagement in the first year writing/writing center experience and diasporic literature and theory in the United States. Most recently, Mary Jo has presented papers at the Mid-Atlantic Writing Center Conference, the College English Association conference, and the Conference on College Composition and Communication. Her work has been published in Changing English, An International Journal of English Teaching as well as Caribbean Literature and Culture.
