Robin CautinAssociate Provost
Robin Cautin is Associate Provost for Faculty Affairs. Her current position involves the development of a Center for Teaching Excellence; development of more effective processes for hiring and for tenure and promotion reviews, in concert with the Faculty Status Committee; overseeing the development of an Office of Grants and Contracts, and, in collaboration with the Office of Institutional Advancement, developing opportunities for institution-wide grant writing and undergraduate research. Prior to assuming her current role, Dr. Cautin served as Chair and Professor of Psychology at Manhattanville College, and has been on the faculty since 2001. During her tenure, she has taken on leadership roles within both the College community and in professional organizations.
Dr. Cautin graduated magna cum laude from the University of Delaware, and earned her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Case Western Reserve University. Her clinical training included an internship and post-doctoral fellowship, and she is licensed to practice in New York State. A nationally recognized scholar in the history of psychology, particularly of clinical psychology, Dr. Cautin also pursues research on misconceptions in clinical and abnormal psychology. She currently serves as General Editor, along with co-editor Scott Lilienfeld, of Wiley’s forthcoming five-volume Encyclopedia of Clinical Psychology. She is a fellow of the American Psychological Association and of the Eastern Psychological Association; a winner of the Early Career Award of Division 26 (History) of the APA and of the J.R. Kantor Fellowship of the Center for the History of Psychology.
