Paul Levitz

Paul Levitz served as president of DC Comics from 2002 - 2009, and has worked for the company for over 37 years in a wide variety of roles.  Prior to joining DC as an assistant editor, he was editor/publisher of an award-winning early fanzine, "The Comic Reader".  He also notably served as editor for the "Batman" line of comics.  As a writer, Levitz is best-known for his work on the title "The Legion of Super Heroes". Of particular note are his collaborations with artist Keith Giffin.  He also wrote the "Justice Society" series in All Star Comics during the late 70's, and the "Superman" newspaper strip.  He was the co-creator of the "Earth-2 Huntress"  with artist Joe Staton and of "Lucien the Librarian" with artist Nestor Redondo.  Levitz currently serves as Contributing Editor and Senior Advisor for the newly-formed DC Entertainment.  He is newest book is, "75 Years of DC Comics: The Art of Modern Mythmaking", a 750 page full color volume, for Taschen books.
