Kenneth Koprowski, M.A.

Ken Koprowski is a communication consultant, writer and educator. For more than 30 years, he's advised the leadership teams of public and private energy, financial, forest products, professional services, and transportation companies including GE Capital's Energy Financial Services and Structured Finance Group, PriceWaterhouse, Primerica/American Can Company (now Citigroup), Texaco, Statoil North America (the national energy company of Norway), Lehman Brothers, American Express, Wells Fargo and others.

He is an expert in strategic, crisis, investor, litigation, branding, marketing, digital/social media and organizational communication, as well as public policy and corporate citizenship. Ken has extensive advertising, marketing and crisis communication management experience, including both litigation and mediation matters. His experience also includes communications advising on regulatory, permitting, zoning, libel, and malpractice matters. He served as corporate spokesperson in diverse, complex and difficult situations.

Ken has written speeches for many well-known corporate leaders, annual and CSR reports, OP EDs, communications plans, ads, video and audio scripts, websites, blogs, and more. In addition to being a prolific writer, he is an award-winning creative director and video and event producer.

He teaches the Theory and Practice of Public Relations in Graduate and Professional Studies at Manhattanville College, and advanced public relations writing, Ethics, Business Law and Regulation, and the Theory, History and Practice of Public Relations in the Public Relations Master's program at New York University. In addition, he teaches crisis communication and reputation management – courses he designed -- in the MBA program at UConn Stamford. He recently edited, and wrote the introduction and chapter on using digital and social media in crisis communications for the handbook, Lukaszewski on Crisis Communications (Rothstein, 2013).

He earned his M.A. in Creative Writing and completed his doctoral coursework at Syracuse University before pursuing his career in public relations. Ken is certified in GE Six Sigma, Change Acceleration Management, Coaching and Facilitation, and 10-hour Hazmat Management. He serves as the Immediate Past President after being President for two years of PRSA's Westchester-Fairfield Chapter and chairs the Nominating and Program committees, and he was 2012 PRSA Tristate District Chair. His communications leadership of the Hands for Life Stamford 2012 project helped the Westchester-Fairfield Chapter earn First Place in PRSA's PR Serving America national competition in 2012.
