Position: Assistant Professor
The Department of Biology at Manhattanville College invites applications for a new tenure-track faculty member at the Assistant Professor level in the area of Molecular and Cellular Biology to begin in the Fall of 2014, pending final budgetary approval. Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in Molecular or Cellular Biology, and have a proven track record of research success.
In this position, the candidate will be expected to develop undergraduate courses in molecular biology, cellular biology and biochemistry as well as upper level elective courses within their specific research field or discipline. The faculty member will also be required to teach introductory biology classes for non-science majors as part of the College's general education curriculum, as well as Principles of Biology for bioscience majors. Candidates will be expected to develop a discipline-specific research program targeted for undergraduate research within a conservative budget. Applicants should possess excellent communication skills, and an ability to work closely and collegially with other faculty members to help manage the Biology department, as well as contribute to a variety of College-wide committees.
