Education for Sustainability

Sustainability at its most fundamental level asks us to address the environmental, social and economic needs of current generations without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs.

Education for Sustainability (EfS) leaders understand the challenge of sustainability and are prepared to teach others, foster institutional and social change, and model the principles of sustainability.

Manhattanville is the only college or university in the region to offer an advanced certificate in Education for Sustainability recognized by the NYS Department of Education.

Join Us - Earn an Advanced Certificate in EfS

Our 16-credit program prepares you to become a leader for a sustainable future. Earn this certificate by working collaboratively in a cohort community to construct meaning in classroom discussions, explore thought-provoking readings, and find solutions to complex problems. Our program crosses traditional disciplinary boundaries to help you develop the knowledge and skills necessary to become agents of change within your schools, organizations, businesses, and communities.

Try the first class. We think you will want to join the cohort and earn the certificate.
