Masters of Science in Finance

 

Finance Mailer_CoverThe Master of Science in Finance degree is a 36-credit program designed for working professionals who seek a career in finance or for experienced finance professionals who seek to enhance their knowledge of the field. Graduates of the program will be equipped for a variety of career opportunities, including positions in multinational industrial corporations and financial institutions.  The curriculum combines four elective courses with eight core courses. The curriculum provides a broad view of the world of finance while allowing students to examine areas of interest in more detail. The program provides students a strong foundation in the principles and analytical techniques of finance upon which they will explore practical business applications.

Applicants must have a bachelor's degree and satisfy prerequisite requirements in accounting, statistics, economics, and finance to be admitted to the program. No GMAT or GRE scores are necessary.

CURRICULUM

The MS in Finance programs consists of eleven courses and a final integrative project. There are seven required core courses and the remaining four courses are selected from a list of eight electives. Students may be eligible to challenge up to six credits of course work based on recent work experience by submitting a carefully organized portfolio to demonstrate competence. The final integrative project includes a paper and oral presentation. This capstone to the program allows students to demonstrate competence in answering a real business question in finance.
