Thank you for your interest in the Manhattanville College Graduate Business Studies, Liberal Studies, or MA in Writing programs. All of our programs are designed to help adult students achieve their educational goals as smoothly as possible while juggling personal and professional responsibilities. The personal attention you will receive from the Manhattanville staff and faculty will make the difference in your academic experience.

Admissions Procedure

When applying for the Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership, omit #2 and #6. 
When applying for the Accelerated B.S. Programs, omit #2c and #6.
When applying to the M.A. in Writing Program, omit #3.

1. Complete the online application formThe normal application fee is waived for online applications.

2. Submit a 2-3 page typewritten autobiographical essay (or attach to an email to us at GPS@mville.edu in MS Word (.DOC/.DOCX) format) describing your education and career experiences. The Admissions Committee uses the autobiographical essay to learn about your plans for the program and about your ability to think and write creatively and critically. This essay should be reflective in nature and respond to the following questions:

a. How and why did you decide to pursue this program?
b. How can this program further your personal and/or professional goals?
c. What special abilities, personal qualities and life experiences do you bring to this program?

3. Submit a resume which reflects your business and educational experience.

4. Arrange to have official transcripts of all undergraduate and graduate work forwarded directly from the institution(s) to this office. Student copies are not acceptable.

5. Submit a Graduate Student Health Form with proof of immunization against measles and rubella in compliance with New York State regulations. This request applies to all students born on or after January 1, 1957.

6. Special Requirements:

a. Please send two (2) letters of recommendation from an undergraduate, graduate or professional contact who can speak to your intellectual and creative ability. You can use our Professional Letter of Recommendation form instead of a letter if you prefer.
b. M.A. in Writing Applicants: Submit a 10-12 page sample of your writing. This must include at least five pages of prose. 
c. For the Adult Accelerated Undergraduate programs, please send one (1) letter of recommendation from an undergraute or professional contact who can speak to your intellectual and academic ability.
