|The Class of 1958 Scholarship|
Michelle Orge `14
Michelle was drawn to Manhattanville for its student diversity, beautiful campus, and great opportunities for financial aid. As an incoming freshman, Michelle intended to major in Psychology, but was so inspired by her first law professor; she switched her focus to Criminal Law. On campus, Michelle is an active volunteer with the Duchesne Center and is Vice President of the Pre-Law Honor Society.
Michelle is grateful to have been awarded her scholarship, which has been a financial relief and guaranteed her stay at Manhattanville for all four years bringing her family great happiness and pride. After graduation, Michelle plans to find an internship while she spends the year applying and preparing for law school. "When I graduate I want to make sure students feel the same way I do—supported by other Valiants. Giving reinforces the Manhattanville community and connects alumni with current students.”
The Class of 1958 Scholarship was established with donations from members of the class in honor of their 25th reunion. In 2008, the class added major support to celebrate its 50th Reunion, and class members continue to help the fund to grow.
The scholarship is awarded to a first-semester sophomore with an outstanding academic record and significant financial need. Recipients who maintain eligibility continue to receive the scholarship through graduation.
