Giving Societies

Manhattanville recognizes all annual donors through the publishing of the Honor Roll. Additionally, giving societies have been introduced to recognize the year’s most loyal and generous donors. The President’s Circle, Sheila M. Smythe Society, and G.O.L.D. Club were established to acknowledge and celebrate the generosity of our leadership and consecutive donors, who have become the foundation of the Fund for Manhattanville.

Sheila M. Smythe Society

Each year Manhattanville alumni demonstrate their loyalty by renewing their gifts annually to the Fund for Manhattanville. The Sheila M. Smythe Society is a way to show our appreciation to our most loyal and committed donors. Participation in this Society demonstrates being a small part of a special community of donors dedicated to investing in the future of Manhattanville. Sustained gifts are the hallmark of a great school. It confirms that Manhattanville has touched a life, broadened someone’s thinking, and made a real difference.

Who is Sheila M. Smythe?
Sheila SmytheSheila M. Smythe was one of Manhattanville’s most dedicated and beloved alumni and volunteer leaders. For more than 20 years, Ms. Smythe sat on the Board of Trustees and twice served as board chair. Before her death in 2003, Ms. Smythe made consecutive annual gifts to Manhattanville for over 35 years. She is a remarkable representation of alumni loyalty and commitment. She had no desire to see her name in bricks and mortar, but only to impact the lives and hearts of Manhattanville students. It is an honor to name this society in her memory.
