The following core courses are offered in the PBPH Program and are required for the majority of health-related professional school applications.  All courses are four (4) credits unless otherwise indicated.

• Principles of Biology I,
• Principles of Biology II,
• Principles of Chemistry I (3 credits),
• Principles of Chemistry I Lab (1 credit),
• Principles of Chemistry II (3 credits),
• Principles of Chemistry II Lab (1 credit),
• Organic Chemistry I (3 credits),
• Organic Chemistry II (3 credits),
• Organic Chemistry Lab I (2 credits),
• Organic Chemistry Lab II (2 credits),
• College Physics I,
• College Physics II,
• **Calculus I

2 semesters of English (one course in English Literature and one course in English Composition; 3-4 credits).

** While not all professional schools require Calculus I, it is strongly recommended to prepare students for entrance into professional schools and are required to be eligible for Manhattanville's PHPAC Committee Letter of Recommendation.

Additional coursework in the sciences is strongly recommended, and includes the following: Anatomy & Physiology, Biochemistry, Immunology, Microbiology, Molecular Cell Biology, Developmental Biology, and DNA Technology.

Students may use courses and credits earned from previous institutions to fulfill the program requirements.  However, students are required to take at least six (6) courses in residence at Manhattanville in order to be eligible to request a Pre-Health Professions Advisory Committee composite letter of recommendation.
