|Reunion 2011 Re-cap|
Reunion 2011 was held May 13-15 at Manhattanville College. The Manhattanville Community welcomed all class years back to campus with special emphasis on classes with years ending in 1 and 6 for their Reunion celebrations.
With the return of Reunion to its spring date, Alumni returned to campus amongst the buzz and excitement of commencement preparations.
The weekend kicked off with the 50th Reunion Class, the Class of 1961, gathering in Reid Castle for dinner on Friday evening. Saturday morning brought all classes together for breakfast with the president, followed by our first set of faculty spotlights. Professor of History and Director of Irish Studies, Irene Whelan, gave a wonderful talk on the History of Today's Ireland and Professor of Psychology, Robin Cautin, captivated alumni with her questions and theories on the myths and misconceptions in Abnormal and Clinical Psychology. Later in the day, Professor of Economics, Finance & Management, Jim Bryan gave an interesting update on the State of our Economy and Professor of Dance & Theater, Hannah Fox gathered with alumni to relax and unwind.
In addition to the traditional Alumni Awards Ceremony, the graduating seniors from the Class of 2011 were invited to attend the State of the College to receive their Alumni Pins. The Senior Induction Pinning Ceremony, hosted by the Alumni Association Board, was a special addition to this year's ceremony. The seniors were recognized and inducted into the alumni association and were invited to meet with alumni and help celebrate those receiving alumni awards with a cocktail reception following the State of the College.
The Young Alumni Society co-hosted their second annual Throwback Alumni Pub Party, which gathered a great crowd from the Classes of 1981-2006! This event followed the Saturday night Gala dinner as classmates and friends gathered in the pub once again for music, drinks and dancing! View Photos
