|NYC Lecture Series: New York, The Capital of the Art World 1950-2000|
Thursday, November 21, 2013
Over 30 alumni came together for a night of discussion led by Professor Deborah Saleeby- Mulligan focusing on the emergence of New York City as the center of the contemporary art world. The lecture traced the development of art trends from Abstract Expressionism of the 1950s to the Shock art of the 1990s in painting, sculpture, and installation art. Particular attention was given to the artists working in New York during these four decades and the movements they created.
