On Saturday, May 25, 2013 pianist David Baranowski will present the premier performance of Barry Pirro’s 'Danbury Ragtime Suite'. The concert will be held at 2 PM at the Danbury Historical Society’s Marian Anderson Studio.
Admission is free, and all donations will benefit the Historical Society.
The 'Danbury Ragtime Suite' is a musical celebration of Mr. Pirro's residence of Danbury, Connecticut. Each of the 11 piano rags that make up the suite are named after and inspired by the history of Danbury. The style of the composition is traditional ragtime and is reminiscent of the works of Scott Joplin, James Scott, and Charles Johnson.
Barry Pirro is Manhattanville College graduate (Class of 1985). He is a composer, pianist, and band director at the Robert E. Bell School in Chappaqua, NY.
David Baranowski is a highly versatile and gifted pianist who has played numerous chamber and choral concerts in the Westchester area. He has played over 100 concerts and visited nearly 25 countries.
