Manhattanville Student's Special Achievement in Math Competition

A Special note from the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science:

Congratulations to Manhattanville Sophomore, Nha Truong upon his extraordinary results of the William Lowell Putnam Mathematical Competition. This year, Nha Truong, scored 41.  To put that score in perspective, Nha was ranked 97 out of the 4277 students from 578 colleges and universities in Canada and the United States who wrote the exam. For further perspective, the median score this year was 0, with 2350 students earning that score.

This is an extraordinary achievement! In the listing of top participants this year, Nha finds himself among students from Harvard, MIT, Brown,Yale, Princeton, NYU, Columbia, UCLA, Cal Tech, Harvey Mudd, Stanford,and UC, Berkeley, to name a few, in the list of highest scorers this year.

“Central Banking After the Crisis”

The lecture will explore where central banking is heading after the recent financial crisis.  First it will discuss the central bank consensus before the crisis and then will outline the key facts learned from the crisis that require changes in the way central banks conduct their business.
