ReyesYasin 130x150My name is Yasmin Reyes and I am a senior majoring in Biology. As a freshman, I was awarded the Duchesne Scholarship. Ever since I was in high school, I participated in numerous volunteer programs. The Duchesne Center has enabled me to continue doing what I love the most, and that is giving back to the community. For the past 4 years, I have volunteered for the Children's Hope Program, which involves tutoring children living with a parent who has HIV/AIDS. This program has most definitely proved to be the most rewarding, as I have developed very close relationships with many of the children and I have watched them grow. As older individuals, we served as role models, sharing our knowledge and experiences. In September, I took on the role of student coordinator for Children's Hope. I am also the student coordinator for Children's Hospital, a program that has allowed me to interact with children in a hospital setting. Both of these programs have contributed to my lifelong aspiration of becoming a Pediatrician. I would like to thank the Duchesne Center for this amazing honor.
