Peter Pucci, Artist in residence Peter graduated from the North Carolina School of the Arts with a BFA in Modern Dance. Peter was principle dancer with Pilobolus Dance Theatre for nine years and toured extensively around the world, before forming his own company, Peter Pucci Plus Dancers (PP+), in 1986. PP+ has performed in New York City, including six seasons at The Joyce Theater. He has choreographed commissioned works for Joffrey Ballet, Dance Theater of Harlem, Ballet Arizona, Ballet Met, Ballet Hispanico, Ballet Pacifica, Colorado Ballet, and Pittsburgh Ballet. He has also served as movement director for many theatrical productions including Sam Shepard's The Late Henry Moss, True Love, Eyes for Consuela, Merry Wives of Windso! r, Twelfth Night, The Learned Ladies, Fool for Love, The Importance of Being Earnest, Macbeth and Camino Real and Renard for the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. Peter recently received a Drama Desk Award for his work on The Orphans' Home Cycle, nine newly adapted plays by Horton Foote, under the direction of Michael Wilson, at The Signature Theatre. Other recent credits include: the new Maury Yeston musical Death Takes A Holiday, directed by Doug Hughes at the Roundabout Theatre, Johnny Baseball, directed by Diane Paulus at American Repertory Theater in Cambridge; The Milk Train Doesn't Stop Here Anymore starting Olympia Dukakis at the Roundabout Theatre and the Big Apple Circus - DANCE ON. Recent dance commissions include, New Mexico Ballet, Dance Theater of Harlem, The Harvard Ballet and The National Choreographers Initiative. This spring Peter will be a guest choreographer at Pomona College in California and Essex College in Baltimore. Peter is also a guest artist professor at the Juilliard School of Drama. |
