Harvey Rachlin
Harvey Rachlin's most recent book, Scandals Vandals and da Vincis: A Gallery of Remarkable Art Tales (Penguin, 2007) has just been published in a Korean translation by Seoul-based publisher Liber Books. A Spanish translation was recently published in Spain and South America by Madrid-based publisher Robinbook and a UK edition was also published by Anova Books. Rachlin's article "Ten Signs You Need a New Agent" was published as a feature article in the November 2008 issue of The Writer. He has three additional articles scheduled to be published in The Writer this year, including the lead article for the July issue. In addition, his article, "Creating Art Stories about Works of Art" appears in the February 2009 issue of SchoolArts. Another article has been accepted for publication by the magazine and will appear in an upcoming issue. Professor Rachlin has some pending writing projects on one of his great passions, "quirky history." "I could not have written Scandals without the resources of the Manhattanville Library,"said Professor Rachlin. "The librarians were very helpful and aided me in tracking down all sorts of hard to find eighteenth and nineteenth century research materials." Soon after Scandals was published in the U.S., he was contacted by the Wall Street Journal who commissioned an essay from him for the Arts & Leisure section in June 2007. Professor Rachlin chose to write an art tale for the newspaper about Botticelli's famous painting "Venus and Mars." This article as well as more information about Professor Rachlin's projects, can be found on his website. |
