Beth Williford, Ph.D.Assistant Professor Professor Beth Williford received her BA in Sociology from Wesleyan College in Macon Georgia. She earned her Master's and Doctorate in Sociology from Purdue University. Her dissertation research on the Amazonian indigenous movement in Ecuador and its transnational connections with organizations in the US was awarded a National Science Foundation grant. After finishing her graduate work at Purdue she joined the Manhattanville faculty. Her research interests include social movements, globalization, gender, indigenous peoples, and Latin America. At Manhattanville she teaches within the Sociology department and Women's Studies program including such courses as the Introduction to Sociology, Women and Society, Social Problems, Gender in Global Perspective, and Latin American Social Movements. Professor Williford is currently the Manhattanville faculty representative for the United Nations Academic Impact initiative.
