John Christopher Carney, Ph.D.Associate Professor
John Christopher Carney is a critical analyst of late modernity. John grew up in Brooklyn, New York and received his B.A. in Political Science from Brooklyn College after serving in the U.S. Navy. He went on to receive his M.A. and Ph.D. from New School University. He is the author of Rethinking Sartre: A Political Reading (University Press of America, 2007), The Phenomenological Argument for the Existence of God (Edwin Mellen Press, 2001), and Through Phenomenology to Solidarity: Essays in Honor of Karol Wojtyla (Verlag Muler, 2010). He also published an article, "On Solidarity," that appeared in "Karol Wojtyla's Philosophical Legacy (2007), Center for Research in Values in Philosophy. His research and teaching interests include the Public Policy of Science and Technology and American Politics.
Manhattanville College is located in Purchase, New York on a beautiful 100-acre suburban campus, 10 minutes from downtown White Plains and just 30 miles from New York City. It has an amazingly diverse mix of students from more than 30 states and 50 countries. The College has 1,700 undergraduates and 1,000 graduate students.
