David BorkerAssistant Professor Professor Borker's research interests are international accounting (including IFRS), emerging and transitional economies, international internet marketing, entrepreneurship, and business education. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, American Accounting Association, Small Business Institute, Academy of Business Research, Academy of International Business, and International Association for Accounting Education and Research. He regularly gives papers and chairs sessions at business conferences and has published research articles in the International Business and Economics Research Journal, Small Business Institute and the Journal of Business and Economics Research. Professor Borker received a Manhattanville College faculty research award for Summer 2012. At Manhattanville College, Professor Borker developed the Accounting Concentration program for Management and Finance majors. He has served on a college-wide search committee and is a member of the college Technology Committee. Professor Borker teaches fundamental and intermediate accounting, fundamentals of taxation, international management, international marketing, micro economics, and the international business seminar. |

David Borker is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics, Finance, and Management and has been affiliated with the College since 2009. Professor Borker received his B.A. from Cornell University, his M.Acc/M.B.A. from Ohio State University and his Ph.D. from Yale. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Prior to joining Manhattanville College, Professor Borker worked in Accounting, Finance, and International business at VISA, Huntington Bancshares, American Electric Power, and RWE, a German multinational corporation. He was a business management consultant in the United States for companies such as General Motors, Verizon, MetLife, and Pfizer, and was an international consultant in Russia, Central and Eastern Europe, and Central Asia (Uzbekistan, Kazakstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Kirgizia). As International Business Executive-In-Residence at the Fisher School of Business at The Ohio University, Professor Borker taught Accounting and Finance and developed an international MBA program abroad. In addition, as an adjunct professor, he has taught undergraduate and MBA-level courses in accounting, finance, marketing, economics, international business, and business statistics.
