Music Education and French Horn
Ms. Walker holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Ed. and a Master of Science degree in Performance (French horn) from SUNY at Potsdam, NY. As a public school teacher, she directed award-winning high school concert and marching bands, directed drama and musicals, and taught elementary and junior high bands and orchestras. She served as 1999-2000 NYSSMA All-State Band Chair and was Guest Conductor of the 2003 NYSSMA Zone 5 Area All-State Concert Band. She has performed on French horn with regional orchestras, concert bands, and brass and woodwind quintets. She has conducted A.F. of M. concert bands and community bands. Among her published arrangements for brass are: December Duets for 2 Horns in F and "Amazing Grace" for Brass Trio. She presently teaches Instrumental Rudiments I and II and French horn at Manhattanville College.
Manhattanville College is located in Purchase, New York on a beautiful 100-acre suburban campus, 10 minutes from downtown White Plains and just 30 miles from New York City. It has an amazingly diverse mix of students from more than 30 states and 50 countries. The College has 1,700 undergraduates and 1,000 graduate students.
