Manhattanville College is located in Purchase, New York on a beautiful 100-acre suburban campus, 10 minutes from downtown White Plains and just 30 miles from New York City. It has an amazingly diverse mix of students from more than 30 states and 50 countries. The College has 1,700 undergraduates and 1,000 graduate students.

Erwin Maas has taught and directed theatre in Australia, England, Germany, Austria, Republic of Belarus, Spain, Belgium, the Netherlands and USA. He worked at numerous academies and universities including, Yale School of Drama, Columbia University School of the Arts, NYU Drama Department, Theatre Academy Netherlands, Escuela de Cine de Barcelona, Kunsthochshule Berlin Weißensee, University of Technology Sydney and Royal Conservatoire The Hague. In New York he directed plays, musicals and opera for many Off and Off-Off Broadway theaters such as; The Atlantic Theater, Cherry Lane Theatre, The Connelly Theatre, Miller Theater and HERE Arts Center as well as several site-specific productions. Erwin received numerous awards including the Fulbright Fellowship, Netherland-America Foundation, Nuffic Talents Award, Shubert Fellowship and the Royal Prince Bernhard Cultural Award. As a director, his interests lie in the exploration of the relationship between story, body, space and time.
