Diane GuernseyPiano and Accompanist Diane Guernsey, piano instructor and vocal coach/accompanist, has appeared in solo and ensemble performances in New York City venues including Symphony Space and Trinity Church, at Caramoor in Katonah, at the Académie Musicale d'Orsay in Paris, and elsewhere in the U.S. and abroad. Ms. Guernsey also performs regularly with New Rochelle's Sound Shore Chorale and at the First Unitarian Society of Westchester, in Hastings-on-Hudson. She received her M.M. in Piano Performance from SUNY at Stony Brook, studying with Gilbert Kalish. Recently she and her husband Paul Gross, a family doctor and singer/songwriter, launched Avalanche, a folk-pop-rock group. They perform Paul's songs with their fellow band members, soprano Liz Scott and bassist Lloyd Fricker, at local venues including Antoinette's, Café Mozart, the First Unitarian Society and Hastings' Friday Night Live. Ms. Guernsey's career also extends to publishing and mental health: She is executive editor of the online magazine Pulse—voices from the heart of medicine (www.pulsemagazine.org), a long-time contributor to Town & Country and Consumer Reports on Health, and a licensed psychoanalyst. |
