Shawn Garnier, M.F.A.
Shawn K. Garnier is originally from Colorado, where he started his gymnastics and dance career. In high school, he was a three-time state champion in gymnastics as well as an elite All-American. Mr. Garnier was a professional dancer for 16 years, doing several world tours with Dick Fosters Productions out of Las Vegas, and performing at MGM Grand, Stratosphere, Harrah’s, The Sands, and The Aladdin Hotel and Casino. He also performed and choreographed for several Sony recording artists. Mr. Garnier also choreographed and styled the opening artist at the 2001 Latin Billboard Awards. In New York, he performed off-broadway with choreographer John Seylas (ABT), WNBA Liberty, and with the Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall. Mr. Garnier completed his B.A. with honors at Queens College in 2008, where he also started the nationally ranked Queens College Dance Team. In 2010, he received his M.F.A. in choreography from the Conservatory of Dance, at SUNY Purchase where he also teaches hip hop. Mr. Garnier is very excited to be apart of Manhattanville College.
Manhattanville College is located in Purchase, New York on a beautiful 100-acre suburban campus, 10 minutes from downtown White Plains and just 30 miles from New York City. It has an amazingly diverse mix of students from more than 30 states and 50 countries. The College has 1,700 undergraduates and 1,000 graduate students.
