Diana CanovaVoice Diana Canova is best known for her role as Corrine Tate in the 70's comedy series SOAP. She went on to star in two series of her own, I'M A BIG GIRL NOW, with Danny Thomas and Martin Short, for which she won the People's Choice Award, as well as THROB where she worked with recording artists ranging from James Brown to Donny Osmond. She also co-starred with Matthew Perry on the series HOME FREE. Diana was a guest star on series TV such as BARNEY MILLER, ST.ELSEWHERE, MURDER SHE WROTE, and many others as well as a constant co-host on the Mike Douglas Show and numerous appearances on the Dinah Shore Show. On Broadway Diana starred in THEY'RE PLAYING OUR SONG as well as the Rounda bout Theater's revival of Sondheim's COMPANY. Regional productions include A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC, COMPANY, PUTTING IT TOGETHER, Rupert Holmes's premiere of THUMBS, Melissa Manchester's I SENT A LETTER TO MY LOVE and I DO I DO. Most recently Diana starred with Tyne Daly at the 92nd St. Y in a Tribute to Kander and Ebb for Lyrics and Lyricists. In the past several years Diana also has lent her many voices to numerous children's videos for Scholastic Books For the last 20 years Diana has run a drama program for kids in Redding CT. where for the last 4 years she has written an directed productions of her original musicals with casts of 90 to 100 middle schoolers. In 2007, she formed an Improv Troupe of talented high schoolers for the purpose of fund raising for different causes. They have raised over 40 thousand dollars thus far. Diana is married to Emmy and Grammy award winning record producer-engineer, Elliot Scheiner and is mother to Matt and Jordi. Currently Diana is an adjunct Professor of Voice at Manhattanville College. |
