Jamie "officially" began practicing yoga in 2008 when he attended restorative classes after knee surgery, although he had been doing some asana, pranayama and meditation for years without knowing yoga as an holistic discipline. Then when illness struck a member of his family, he recalls; "my body responded to the stress with debilitating back pain. I began practicing daily — meditation, Reiki, musical/vibrational healing, along with my regular asana and pranayama practice. This is when I decided I wanted to become a teacher." In May 2011, Jamie completed his 200-hour Teacher Training at Yoga Haven in Tuckahoe, NY. While exploring the styles offered at Yoga Haven, Jamie became captivated by the Tantric philosophy employed in Anusara, and the alignment details of Iyengar yoga, currently his two main inspirations. With his background as a personal trainer and love of yoga, Jamie continues to explore the relationships between mind, body and spirit; seeking more clarity and alignment. He loves to teach, finding great joy in sharing this beautiful tradition with others.
