The Department of Psychology at Manhattanville College invites applications for a tenure-track, assistant professor position to begin Fall 2013 in one of the following areas: Community Psychology (non-clinical), Positive Psychology, or Emotion. In keeping with the College's mission, we seek a colleague who shares our commitment to teaching excellence in a culturally diverse community. We are particularly interested in candidates who demonstrate promise of being a superior teacher of undergraduates and a commitment to research that will incorporate the participation of undergraduate majors. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and teach introductory and upper level seminar courses in his or her area of expertise.

Manhattanville College is a small private liberal arts institution located approximately 30 miles north of New York City. The seven full-time faculty members of our department provide a supportive environment for the development of new colleagues including reduced teaching for one semester and support for research. Full time Psychology faculty members are expected to teach 6-7 courses per year (21 credits) including participation in teaching the core courses for the major (i.e., Fundamentals of Psychology, Statistics, and Research Methods), advise undergraduate psychology majors, supervise undergraduate research, participate in the governance of the department and of the College, provide service to the institution (e.g., committee work), and to contribute to the General Education curriculum.
