The Ententes are social gatherings with an academic twist planned by Student Government. Student, faculty, and staff come together in the late afternoon to enjoy each other's accompany and be treated to performances by Manhattanville students.

Winter and Spring Formals

One of the most popular events of the year, most students can be found at the semesterly formals. The event is held in the Castle with a different theme each time.

The entire Manhattanville community waits in anticipation of this truly unique spring event. Members of the International Student Organization organize this night of international cuisine and performances.

Quad Jam

Every April, the Saturday after the Spring Formal, is our biggest social event of the year  -  Quad Jam. Beginning at noon and going through midnight, Quad Jam is an all day music festival with a carnival-like atmosphere. Most of the campus and many alumni attend this event.

Leadership Dinner

At the end of every academic year, Student Government sponsors a dinner to honor students, staff, and organizations that have worked hard to improve the atmosphere at Manhattanville. Awards are presented and officers for the next year are sworn in.

Midnight Brunch

The night before finals start each semester, faculty, staff, and administration serve a meal to all the students in the cafeteria. A study break for the students, it gives another opportunity for staff and students to come together.

Senior Week

The week before Commencement, the senior class stays at the College after the underclassmen have departed. At this time, they engage in various activities to reminisce about their days here, say goodbye to one another, and prepare for graduation.

Honors Convocation and Baccalaureate Ceremony

This service occurs the day before Commencement. The Dean of Studies presents honors to seniors who have achieved distinction in their departments. All students, parents, family and friends are invited to attend both the ceremony and the reception afterwards.

Commencement

On the second or third Saturday in May, the Manhattanville community gathers on the Quad to celebrate the achievements of graduating Bachelors. Every year, the College honors its students and distinguished guests. Among those honored in most recent years are former NYC Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik, the artists Christo and Jean-Claude, and author Frank McCourt. Commencement is among our most treasured events at Manhattanville and always closes the academic year warmly. In 2002 we began a new tradition - a Commencement ceremony specifically for our Masters students. This ceremony is held the Thursday prior to our Bachelors' Commencement.
