Dear Freshmen students,

On behalf of the Manhattanville community and this year’s Orientation Staff, we would like to congratulate you on your acceptance to Manhattanville College! This letter is to officially invite you and your family to attend Phase I Orientation, which will take place on Sunday, June 22nd and Monday, June 23rd.

Phase I Orientation is designed to familiarize you with the college, make new friends and help alleviate any apprehensions about college life that you may have. During these two days you will attend an academic fair, select your classes for the upcoming semester, enjoy a Manhattanville barbeque and a Luau Party! Phase I Orientation is a complete two day event, so it is strongly recommend that you stay overnight, even if you plan on being a commuter.

Everyone is encouraged to attend Phase I; however, if you are unable to attend Phase I, we will have a Phase II Orientation beginning August 22nd through August 24th. Phase II Orientation is mandatory for all students, even if you have attended Phase I Orientation. Those who attended Phase I Orientation will have already registered for classes and will complete a different process during Phase II Orientation.

New international students who will be arriving on F-1 student visas need only attend Phase II and plan to arrive early for the international "Ready, Set, Go" program starting August 20th. Please refer to http://www1.mville.edu/oiss/new.htm for more information.

Orientation for both parents and students is free of charge. The deadline to RSVP for Phase I Orientation is June 13th, 2008. You may RSVP by completing and mailing your form or you may RSVP online here. We can only accommodate a certain amount of students for Phase I, so please respond promptly.

Once again, congratulations on your acceptance to Manhattanville College. We will be sending a mailing at the end of July with further information pertaining to Phase II Orientation; however, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at the Office of Student Activities at (914) 323-5154. Have a great summer and we look forward to meeting you at Orientation!

Sincerely,
