Course Support

The library is ready to help you make course readings available to your students.  Maureen Kindilien, Faculty Services Librarian, consults individually with faculty to create the best experience for your class.

Course Reserve readings at Manhattanville fall into two categories: Electronic Reserves  and Hard Copy Reserves

All individual articles and book chapters not available in library databases are scanned by the library, converted to Adobe Acrobat PDF files and placed on Electronic Reserves.  Content within our databases will be linked to course reserves pages, not scanned.  Paper copies can be printed on demand from the online course page.

Items held on Hard Copy Reserves include books, music scores, CDs, DVDs and VHS cassettes.   Hard Copy reserves materials can be checked out for 3 hours at a time for in-library use only at the Circulation Desk.

Information for Faculty

Faculty may submit Course Reserve Request Lists by completing the online Reserves Request Form.  Please note that a maximum of 25 items per course may be scanned and placed on Electronic Reserves.

Reserves can usually be processed within 3-5 business days, but items submitted after posted deadlines may take longer to process.  Professors are advised to check and see that their reserves are processed and available before readings are assigned.

Please consult the Reserves Guidelines   and Reserves Copyright Guidelines  for more information.
