Finding my way around the Library

See the floor plan. Assistance will be provided to individuals with disabilities.

Finding a book

Use the "Books" tab of our quick search feature:

  • If you know the exact title or author, use the drop menu below the search box to limit your search to title or author.
  • If you do not have a name of an author or title of a book you can then do a general keyword or a subject heading search.  Once you have found what you are looking for copy down the call number and retrieve the book from our stacks.
  • Our Library uses the Library of Congress classification system for book arrangement.  The beginning letters of the call number will tell you which tier to go to: (A-DA) Tier 1; (DB-HA) Tier 2; (HB-MT) Tier 3; (N-PQ) Tier 4; and (PR-Z) Tier 5.

Finding a film (VHS/DVD) or music CD

Use the "Moves & Music" tab of our quick search feature:

  • If you know the exact title, use the drop menu below the search box to limit your search to title.
  • If you do not know the title, then do a general keyword or a subject heading search.  Once you have found what you are looking for copy down the call number and go the circulation desk for further assistance and retrieval.
