Professor William C. Perkins received the bachelor of arts degree from the State University of New York College at Potsdam in 1973 with high honors. He earned a masters degree from the State University of New York at Binghamton in economics in 1975 and completed the Ph.D. degree from Rutgers University in economics in 1983. Within economics his special fields include monetary theory and policy, the history of economic thought and industrial organization. He is also interested in macroeconomic theory and policy. Before joining the Manhattanville College faculty, Professor Perkins worked as an economist at the Bureau of Labor Statistics in Washington, D.C. and taught at Ramapo College of New Jersey, Rutgers College and Douglass College. Recently he has had book reviews published in The American Economist, the Eastern Economics Journal and Presidential Studies Quarterly. Professor Perkins is a member of the American Economic Association, the Eastern Economics Association, the History of Economics Society and is a member of Omicron Delta Epsilon the international honor society in economics.
