Graduate Scholarships

We are pleased to announce that the School of Education is awarding Graduate Scholarships to any incoming graduate student possessing a cumulative undergraduate grade point average of 3.2 or higher and registered for nine credits or more their first semester. Students applying to the School of Education Graduate program may be entitled to one of the following academic scholarships.

Alumni Scholarship

  • Academic scholarships are available for one semester only.
  • Students must be accepted as a matriculated student in the graduate program to be eligible and registered for graduate coursework through the School of Education.
  • Students receiving the Alumni Scholarship are eligible each semester that they are enrolled for nine credits or more of graduate coursework through the School of Education.
  • Scholarships may NOT be combined with any other scholarship or discount offered through a partnership program.

Undergraduate Scholarships

Additionally, the following opportunities were created specifically for Manhattanville College undergraduates.

Fast Start

For Graduating Seniors
3.0 cumulative GPA required
20% tuition discount
Fast Start students with a GPA of 3.6 or better will also receive a one-time award, Advanced Scholarship of an additional $1000.

Students may NOT combine the Fast Start and Alumni Scholarships.

Discount for Religious School Educators

A 25% tuition discount will be made available to teachers and administrators employed by a religiously-affiliated school accredited by New York State or the federal government.

Criteria for Eligibility

  • Full acceptance into Manhattanville College School of Education Master’s program
  • Must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Employment at a school with a religiously affiliated organization

To obtain the discount, the student must provide proof of employment from the school’s principal on official school letterhead. The letter should be directed to the Graduate Advising office before the student registers.

The Mary K. Humphrey Endowed Scholarship in Special Education

The Mary K. Humphreys Endowed Scholarship in Special Education is an award to students in honor of the memory of Mary K. Humphreys who dedicated her life to the education of children with special needs. She received an undergraduate degree in education and a master’s degree in special education from Manhattanville College. To honor her memory, the friends and family of Mary K. Humphreys have established this scholarship of $2500 for Special Education at Manhattanville College.

The successful candidate should demonstrate a passion for and sensitivity to the needs of children with special needs. This candidate should personify the ideals, compassion, and work ethic of Mary K. Humphreys. The candidate will demonstrate perseverance in enriching the quality of life of children. This candidate will be a life-long learner.

Criteria for Selection

  • Acceptance into the Master’s program in Special Education (includes dual certification)
  • 3.25 GPA for undergraduate students or 3.5 GPA for graduate students
  • 2 letters of recommendation from professional sources
  • Personal statement about one’s commitment to students with special needs

The Changing Suburbs Institute® and Manhattanville College Collaborative

Reduced Tuition for partnering school districts. Teachers from White Plains, Port Chester, Greenburgh, Mamaroneck, and New Rochelle receive 1/3 tuition discount for all courses registered through the School of Education. Teachers from Elmsford, Ossining and Peekskill receive 20% tuition discount.

Jump Start Discount

Students interested in obtaining certification as math, science or Spanish teachers through our accelerated program, Jump Start, are now eligible for a 30% tuition discount.

Scholarships may not be combined (except Fast Start and Advanced if eligible). Scholarships may not be used if a student is receiving any other discount (i.e. through partnership programs), is a graduate assistant, or is receiving tuition assistance from Manhattanville College or any other employer.

Scholarships cover the cost of tuition only. Does not cover fees, books, or other costs.
