Eligibility
School of Education students must:
1. Successfully complete a New York State approved program of teacher preparation in the certification area;
2. Successfully complete student teaching as evidenced by recommendations of cooperating teachers and college supervisors;
3. Successfully complete all the appropriate sections of the New York State Teachers Certification Examination;
4. Attend a two-hour seminar on Child Abuse and School Violence Intervention and Prevention;
5. Complete the application for certification, pay the required fees;
6. Be recommended by the Director of Field Placement and Certification, the state-certifying officer.
