Thank you for your interest in the Manhattanville College School of Graduate and Professional Studies. All of our programs are designed to help adult students achieve their educational goals as smoothly as possible while juggling personal and professional responsibilities. The personal attention you will receive from the Manhattanville staff and faculty will make the difference in your academic experience.

Admissions Procedure

(When applying for the Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership, omit # 2 and #6.)

1. Complete the online application formThe normal application fee is waived for online application.

2. Submit a 2-3 page typewritten autobiographical essay (or attach to an email to us at GPS@mville.edu in MS Word (.DOC) format) describing your education and career experiences. The Admissions Committee uses the autobiographical essay to learn about your plans for the program and about your ability to think and write creatively and critically. This essay should be reflective in nature and respond to the following questions:

a. How and why did you decide to pursue this program?
b. How can this program further your personal and/or professional goals?
c. What special abilities, personal qualities and life experiences do you bring to this program?

3. Submit a resume which reflects your business and educational experience.

4. Arrange to have official transcripts of all undergraduate and graduate work forwarded directly from the institution(s) to this office. Student copies are not acceptable.

5. Submit proof of immunization against measles and rubella in compliance with New York State regulations. This request applies to all students born after January 1, 1957.

6. Special Requirements:

a. M.S. Degree Applicants: Submit two letters of recommendation from employers or educators who can attest to your potential for graduate-level course work.
b. M.A. in Writing Applicants: Submit a 10-12 page sample of your writing. This must include at least five pages of prose. Also submit two letters of recommendation.
c. Accelerated Bachelor of Science students may submit two letters of recommendation to present a stronger application.  However, it is not required.
