Dear Members of the Manhattanville Community,
The Presidential Search Committee continues to make good progress and is pleased to tentatively schedule December 9, 10, 11 as available dates for finalists to come to the campus to meet with the college community. While plans are not yet final and finalists are not yet selected, we expect to be able to announce our finalists and post their campus visiting schedule on the website early on Monday, December 8, 2008.
Your committee wanted to get this save-the-date message out to the college community now, so that you are fully informed of this most important next step in the search process and can plan to participate. The reason for the tentative nature of this announcement is that the Search Committee is making every effort to schedule this “public” phase of the search before the winter break, which will run until January 20th , so that faculty and students will still be on campus and as much of the Manhattanville community as possible can participate. Scheduling also reflects the Search Committee’s sense that we need to continue to move quickly in what is a very competitive market for strong presidential leadership.
So, to summarize, if all goes according to plan, we will send out the details of these campus visits to you on Monday December 8 and will post finalists’ biographical information on the website. Thank you for your flexibility and understanding. We look forward to introducing our finalists to you very soon and will offer a variety of opportunities throughout the visiting days to accommodate your very busy schedules, including students’ exams.
Sincerely,
Sally Rogers and Mark Davis
on behalf of the Presidential Search Committee

Dear Members of the Manhattanville Community,
In keeping with our commitment to keep you well informed of our progress, your Presidential Search Committee is pleased to report that we are now completing the first round of candidate interviews. The most promising candidates will proceed to the next stage of the interview process, which will begin shortly. At this stage, the Search Committee will deepen its knowledge of candidates through small group discussions, aimed at better assessing the candidates' leadership qualities as well as their "fit" with the College's proud traditions and values.
In the coming weeks, the Search Committee will select finalists. While it remains essential to maintain confidentiality at this point, all of us on the Search Committee want you to know that we are meeting impressive and committed academic leaders, who are very attracted to Manhattanville's mission and who are expressing serious interest in helping to shape the college’s future as our 11th president.
Please continue to check the college's website for more information as it becomes available.
Sincerely,
Mark Davis and Sally Rogers

To the Manhattanville Community,
We want to thank all of you who have communicated with us on this website over the last few months with references, suggestions, questions and comments. Your input has been extremely valuable to your Presidential Search Committee as we search for the next President of Manhattanville.
Over the past several months, we have been very active on several fronts.
- First, we have collected opinions, thoughts and issues from the Manhattanville Community through this website and through a number of forums we have held on Campus. If you have not been able to attend one of these forums yet, please join us on September 19 at 3 PM in the East Library of Reid Castle.
- Second, we have advertised the position in a number of newspapers and other media, including: the New York Times; The Chronicle of Higher Education; Diverse Issues in Higher Education; Hispanic Outlook and Academic Keys.
- Third, our executive search team at Russell Reynolds has been hard at work contacting potential candidates identified through their own extensive relationships and databases, researching and evaluating candidates recommended by others, and fielding calls from potential candidates who have heard about the opportunity. Our next step is to compile a complete list of candidates that we think are qualified to run this great institution and to begin the interview process.
We are pleased to report that a significant number of qualified applicants have expressed interest in the position. The Presidential Search Committee is looking forward to meeting with the best of these candidates later in the fall and winter to learn more about them and to share our enthusiasm for Manhattanville and the great opportunities ahead.
If you have any questions or suggestions, please continue to use our Feedback page or feel free to email mv-prez@russellreynolds.com.
We will continue to keep you informed and thank you for your continuing interest and support.

Dear Members of the Manhattanville Community,
The Board of Trustees of Manhattanville College has formed a Search Committee to choose the school’s next president. The current president, Richard A. Berman, recently announced he will be leaving Manhattanville at the conclusion of his current contract on June 30, 2009.
The search for Manhattanville’s eleventh president is an extraordinary opportunity to build on past successes and chart an exciting new future for the college. We invite the full participation of the Manhattanville community in this vitally important task and I thank the Search Committee for their leadership and commitment.
The Search Committee includes Trustees, Faculty, Alumni, Staff and Student representation, serving side-by-side.
Open campus meetings are being planned to gather perspectives and advice on the search criteria. This webpage will keep the community informed of the committee’s progress and provide further opportunities for participation.
Sincerely,
Robert Hall, Chairman of the Board of Trustees
Mark Davis and Sally Rogers, Co-Chairs of the Search Committee
